Donner Lake is a freshwater lake 2.7 miles long, .6 miles wide; a circumference of 8 miles; with a depth of 328 ft. There are 35 public piers available for fishing, boating and sunbathing.

West End Beach: 10-acre beach facility. Certified lifeguards. Group picnic reservations and Pavilion on the Point are made with the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park.

Shoreline Park: ADA accessible fishing dock, small craft launching, picnicking, restrooms. Located midway on the north shore.

Donner Lake Public Boat Ramp: Northwest corner of lake.
