The North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program has completed its 15th year with a graduation celebration held in May at the North Tahoe Event Center. The program creates an opportunity for potential leaders to broaden their understanding of the region and its issues, challenges and opportunities, while honing and developing their leadership skills. Since 2004, the program has graduated over 320 individuals.

Second and third grade students at Serra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS) collaborated on a project to give visiting families with young kids ideas of fun family activities in Truckee. As their community project, these local students brainstormed then voted on top places to go with kids in Truckee. They then got together in groups to write the copy and produced rack cards available at the Truckee Visitors Center and other locations around town.
