Navigating Immigration Issues

On January 27th more than 60 business and community members attended our quarterly Town Talk about Navigating Immigration Rights with the Truckee Police Department and Sierra Community House (SCH) at Lift Truckee. It was a very informative session with questions from many concerned citizens. Sierra Community House empowers and supports community members around concerns about the increased immigration enforcement and about other immigration policy changes.  Here are some additional resources: 

• Know Your Rights (KYR) FAQ and resources are on SCH’s website to help partners and community members understand and navigate immigration enforcement related topics, and quickly access immigration resources in one place, including printable red cards and info on their upcoming community KYR workshops.  A good guide for employers is A Guide for Employers: What to Do if Immigration Comes to Your Workplace – NILC 

• SCH’s First Wednesday in-person KYR workshop where community members can drop in for information, resources, and updates will start February 5. For the in-person workshops flyer, please print and share directly, but DO NOT POST PUBLICLY so community members feel safe to attend.  Please ask community members and partners to do so too. (The flyer is also attached above, along with a version without location that can be posted online or in public places). Both flyers are double sided in English and Spanish.
