Truckee North Tahoe Tech Teens Returns for Third Year

January 27, 2026

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with The Town of Truckee, Tahoe Truckee Unified School District, Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Tahoe Forest Health System, Truckee Tahoe Airport District, CalFire, and the California Highway Patrol are excited to announce the third year of Truckee North Tahoe Tech Teens (TNT Tech Teens), a workforce initiative focused on promoting the diverse range of tech-related jobs available to our Truckee and Tahoe students.

Running from March 19 through May 7, this free seven-week program connects Truckee and North Tahoe high school students with technology careers within local public agencies. Students will explore how technology is used in real-world settings and gain insight into diverse career paths available right here in our region. The series also strengthens connections between students and local organizations, helping cultivate future talent and a workforce equipped with in-demand skills.

“We’re excited to continue TNT Tech Teens for its third year,” said Jessica Penman, President & CEO of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce. “This program has shown just how powerful it can be when students are exposed to real-world technology careers in their own backyard. Watching them make those connections is inspiring, and we’re looking forward to expanding those opportunities this year.”

Local high schoolers are invited to dive deep into the technology powering our community and learn the “Behind the Scenes” of how important technology is to the success of Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. Throughout the program, students will experience hands-on learning at key locations and explore technologies such as Air Traffic Control towers at the Truckee Tahoe Airport, surgery robots at Tahoe Forest Hospital, and cybersecurity best practices. The TNT Tech Teens program culminates in a career-building workshop that equips students with valuable resume and interview skills. Students who complete the entire program will receive a certificate of completion from the Town of Truckee Mayor.

TNT Tech Teens is a free program open to all 9th—12th grade students living in Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. Students interested in participating must apply by Friday, February 20, 2026. The application can be found at https://forms.gle/azoAQB4J3noLTbqx5 and on Truckee.com. For any questions regarding the application process, contact Jessica Penman, President and CEO of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce, at jessica@truckee.com.
