The Shire Studio, nestled in the heart of Glenshire, is not your average fitness studio. It’s a vibrant hub where wellness meets connection.
Owned and operated by Catherine Betts, a local mom of two and former Division-1 athlete and performance coach, The Shire Studio is the culmination of Catherine’s lifelong dream. Despite the uncertainties in the fitness industry, Catherine’s unwavering passion drove her to take a leap of faith. And now she’s opened the doors to a space beyond just fitness.
The studio offers various classes tailored to fit everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or aspiration. There’s something for everyone from Bootcamp to Yoga, Barre to Pilates, Dance to Restorative Yoga, and even Youth Tumbling & Performance Training. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a newcomer to the fitness world, The Shire Studio promises a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
But The Shire Studio isn’t just about physical fitness. It’s about building a sense of belonging and camaraderie within our community. Members forge lasting friendships through innovative group classes, team challenges, and community events while working toward their fitness goals together.
One of Catherine’s primary goals in opening The Shire Studio is to create a space where the local community can unite and embrace a healthier lifestyle. With various offerings, such as clinics, seminars on health and wellness topics, massage therapy services, and evening restorative classes, the studio aims to positively impact the community’s well-being.
What makes The Shire Studio truly special is its team of local fitness and health professionals, many of whom are fellow moms. Their expertise and dedication ensure that every class is not only practical but also enjoyable and supportive.
As Catherine says, “May this new space make your body strong, your mind balanced, and your soul happy.” The Shire Studio isn’t just a place to work out; it’s a place to belong, to connect, and to thrive.
Truckee Mayor Dave Polivy, Truckee Chamber Board of Directors Chair Bill Greeno and Director, Jessica Carr, and Truckee Chamber President and CEO Jessica Penman, and Membership & Programs Manager Marissa Yakaitis joined The Shire Studio owner Catherine, family, and staff last Friday for an official ribbon cutting for the studio, conveniently located across the parking lot from the Glenshire General Store at 10095 Dorchester Dr., Suite G.
