Home is not where you live, it’s where you belong. When you have an opportunity to meet people and develop relationships and acquaintances, your sense of belonging increases. These acquaintances can provide connections to other people, things to do, places to explore, and ways to get involved.
Community Connections is a program developed by the Truckee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Truckee designed to:

Shopping locally in Truckee keeps the town’s character alive and strengthens our community in ways big chains never could. When you spend money at Truckee’s independent shops, 68 cents for every dollar stays in the community. It helps pay local wages, supports local services, and fuels a cycle that keeps businesses open through shoulder seasons. This matters in a mountain town where the economy depends on both residents and visitors.
Local shops also bring a level of care you rarely find elsewhere. Owners know the town, are out on the mountain, lakes, river with you, and offer products that they’ve chosen for Truckee’s climate, lifestyle, and culture. Whether you are buying gear for winter storms or gifts made by regional artists, you get quality backed by real knowledge.
Shopping locally also cuts down on travel. Shorter trips mean less traffic on mountain roads and fewer emissions in an area that values clean air and natural beauty.
Most of all, it builds connection. Every purchase can lead to a conversation, a connection, or a familiar face. You help your neighbors succeed, and they help make Truckee a town worth calling home.

Mark your calendars to celebrate the holidays with local farmers and makers at the annual Holiday Block Party on Nonprofit Row! Bounce between Truckee Roundhouse, Tahoe Food Hub, and Sierra Community House for the annual nonprofit holiday market.
Enjoy music, food trucks, local beer, and wine as you shop for organic produce, specialty foods, and handmade local crafts. Connect with the people behind our food, goods, and community support efforts, and don’t miss the chance to snap a photo with SANTA (between 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.), brought to you by the Truckee Chamber! Drinks and delicious food from MOGROG will be available for purchase, benefiting all three nonprofits.

Please visit Truckee Trails Foundation, truckeetrails.org, for more information on all of Truckee’s paved and singletrack trails.
