We are pleased to introduce new member, The College Collaborators, an online college planning company founded by three certified counselors who have 75+ years of collective experience supporting students throughout the college application process. The college application process is not only stressful, it can be very complicated — so turn to the experts.

Services

The College Collaborators offer a range of services designed to support students and parents throughout the college application process. They provide one-on-one coaching, essay review packages, and full-service admissions consulting, helping students craft strong applications that highlight their strengths.

Packages

Packages include full-service admissions consulting tailored to the grade level of the student, or packages around targeted topics, including course selection, essay writing, and application strategy. Jen Brookover

Jen Brookover has 25+ years of experience in education as a counselor and English teacher in Pennsylvania and California. Her roles as a teacher and counselor greatly contribute to her knowledge of working with diverse families. She brings expertise in essay coaching and application strategy, helping students craft compelling narratives that showcase their unique strengths.

Karen Rowe

Karen Rowe is an experienced college consultant who specializes in guiding students through the admissions process with a strategic and personalized approach. She has lived in Truckee-Tahoe for the last ten years, and has spent the past 20+ years advising students on college planning in large public schools on the East coast, a rigorous private school on the West coast, an athletic academy on the West coast, and with online independent college counseling companies in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California.

Katy Watts

Katy Watts focuses on standardized test preparation and academic planning, ensuring students are well-prepared for both testing and coursework. Katy has been a high school counselor for 20+ years, starting in California public high schools in 2002. After three years of public school counseling (middle school and high school), she decided on a new adventure and moved overseas, where she jumped into college planning at the high school level. She returned to the Reno-Tahoe area and has continued her focus on college planning for high schoolers for the past 20 years.
