On October 5, we celebrated the opening of a historic home, 10160 Church Street built in 1890 that was beautifully restored from down to the bones of the building by Stonebridge Property Solutions, with a Ribbon Cutting & Open House party officiated by Truckee Mayor Lindsay Romack. The 6-bedroom/2 bath home boasts an office, bonus kitchenette upstairs, and two beautiful screened-in porches. The building once served as Truckee’s hospital, which ties in with Stonebridge CEO Chris Villines’ vision that the home would be used for traveling nurses or other professionals.
Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks and custom-made chocolates that Stonebridge ordered from local confectionary, Dorinda’s Chocolates, as well as locally baked cupcakes.
The historic home in the heart of downtown Truckee is perfect for corporate housing or seasonal leases. The last long-term renters was a professional team in training who appreciated the ability to walk downtown and easy access to other services and public transportation.
Chris Villines talked about the start of her woman-opened company. After raising kids (who were in attendance and are active in the Truckee-Tahoe community) for 33 years, she returned to her passion – seeing and executing beauty and function in hidden gems. With the support of her family, she started Stonebridge Property Solutions. Chris’s eye and attention to detail are evident in the Church Street home, which had been in severe disrepair. She worked closely with the Town of Truckee Historical Board and local contractors to retain what she could of this historic building.
