Tahoe Truckee Media Expands to HD Channels

February 23, 2022

Tahoe Truckee Media (TTM), operator of Channels 6 and 18 on Suddenlink Cable in the Tahoe-Truckee region, can now be seen in High Definition on Suddenlink Channels 106 and 118.

TTM provides coverage of governmental meetings of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School
District (TTUSD), Town of Truckee, Truckee Tahoe Airport Board and Tahoe Forest Hospital
District. Local programming also includes TTUSD athletics and Music concerts, community
events like the Fourth of July Parade, Good Morning Truckee, Mountain Housing Council, and
Veteran’s Day festivities among others.

“We’ve been pushing for this upgrade for years,” said TTM Manager Rory O’Farrell. “Rural
areas like ours are quickly becoming “news deserts,” and this attests to the strength of TTM
and our service to the community. We’d like to thank Suddenlink for recognizing this, and
thank the Town of Truckee and Tahoe Truckee Unified School District for helping to make this
happen.”

“TTM’s engineering advisor Tom Ballister took on the technical aspects of this project and
has contributed countless hours to get it accomplished. Media Centers in other markets
are already inquiring about our success; we are among the very few who have managed to
get HD channels.”

Suddenlink subscribers may need to run a “channel scan” on their TV to be able to
watch Channels 106 and 118. Call the TTM studio at (530) 582-2790 if you need help getting
connected.
