Truckee Big Life Artist: Nevada County Arts Council
July 26, 2023
This week at Truckee Thursdays, our Truckee Big Life Artist is the Nevada County Arts Council. As a partner with the California Arts Council, Truckee Cultural District, Truckee Arts Alliance, and more creative nonprofits, they facilitate collaborative efforts that promote and sustain the visual, literary, and performing arts of Nevada County in order to advance the cultural, social. and economic life of our community.
Nevada County Arts Council promotes and enhances our arts community in many ways. They offer free advertisement for artists both locally and regionally in California. All artists are welcome to join their Artists Directory of Nevada County on their website. For Northern California, through the work they’ve been doing with the California Creative Corps on Upstate California Creative Corps Grants, they invite all members of the creative sector to create a profile at www.upstateartists.org. Both provide information about and awareness of the numerous, talented, and varied creatives in our community and also connect the artists with those who wish to enjoy gallery showings and performances and also for potential commissions.
In addition, Nevada County Arts Council works tirelessly, year-round on several education programs and community art collaborations, while helping to promote equity in the arts.
Our weekly Truckee Big Life Artist booth celebrates and highlights our creative community of Truckee Cultural District in collaboration with Truckee Arts Alliance and Truckee Public Arts Commission (TPAC). Stop by the booth next to the Train Depot, and say hello to the Nevada County Arts Council representatives, Eliza Tudor, Executive Director; Michaelyn Logue, Community Engagement; and Diana Arbex, Program Coordinator; and find out about all of the work that they do to enrich the lives of everyone in Nevada County through art.
