We had a great turnout for the first Good Morning Truckee of 2023 on Workforce Housing Programs. Due to a new AV system in the meeting room, there were technical difficulties. We heard the latest updates on workforce housing programs being offered by the Town of Truckee, Nevada County, Placer County, and Truckee Tahoe Workforce Housing Agency.
The speakers talked about the Lease to Locals Program, Workforce Housing Preservation Fund, Truckee Home Access program, plus new exciting updates from the Truckee Tahoe Workforce Housing Agency. There was also a brief update on TART and Truckee TART Connect.
Jessica Penman, President and CEO of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce says, “As a new resident to Truckee I know the importance of sharing this information with our community. It is hard to find housing to rent or to buy but there are programs in place to help. We look forward to this opportunity to spotlight some of the impressive work our community partners are doing around the housing crisis.”
Good Morning Truckee is offered in person only but is recorded for viewing at a later date if you are unable to attend in person. The event is held at Truckee Town Hall upstairs in the Council Chamber, at 10183 Truckee Airport Road. Registration begins at 6:45 a.m. and the program starts promptly at 7:00 a.m.
Good Morning Truckee is a community forum to provide timely, relevant information on a variety of topics. It is open to the public – everyone is invited. It is held the third Tuesday of every month at Truckee Town Hall from 7:00-8:30 am. Ticket price for the general public is $12 and $10 for Truckee Chamber members and includes a continental breakfast and ticket for a chance to win door prizes. Anyone who brings their own traveler coffee mug will receive an additional ticket for the door prize drawings.
These events are very popular and great for meeting other community members. Whether you are new or have lived here for years, hearing from our leaders in the community is an enjoyable way to stay on top of important issues, connect and engage. One of the great things about living in a small community like Truckee is that you can personally know your leaders and work with them to make a difference.
