The July 12th Good Morning Truckee will talk about two exciting trail projects in the works and the popular Truckee Air Show.
Paco Lindsay, Board Member for the Truckee Trails Foundation, will talk about the Pines to Mines Trail project. This 68-mile trail, connecting Nevada City to Truckee, would provide an epic backcountry trail experience allowing access to a part of the Sierra that’s been difficult to reach on foot or by bike.
Greg Williams is the Executive Director of the Sierra Buttes Trails Foundation. He is the lead for the Connected Communities Project, a visionary effort led in partnership with the US Forest Service and community partners to connect 15 mountain towns for economic prosperity through outdoor recreation. The 600-mile multi-use trail will connect communities such as Susanville, Quincy, Sierraville, Truckee, and 10 other communities in that region.
David Love, Committee Chair for the Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival, will provide a preview of this popular event coming up July 23rd. This world-class air show has everything from fighter jets to classic warplanes, private jets, helicopters, and aerobatic performers. Family fun, music, STEM Expo, and more.
Judy Price, Town Clerk for the Town of Truckee, will provide a brief overview of upcoming election season and seats up for election in Town and Special Districts, and also how to register to vote.
The event is held at Truckee Town Hall upstairs in the Council Chambers from 7:00-8:30 am. The Truckee Chamber encourages in-person attendance to connect with other community members – it is one of the best networking opportunities around. The meeting is also available for online viewing through Zoom, livestream at tahoetruckeemedia.org or on Suddenlink Channel 18. All sessions are recorded and available for viewing at a later date.
Good Morning Truckee is a community forum to provide timely, relevant information on a variety of topics. It is open to the public – everyone is invited. It is held the second Tuesday of every month at Truckee Town Hall from 7:00-8:30 am. Ticket price is $10 for Truckee Chamber members and $12 for the general public and includes a continental breakfast and raffle ticket.
