The Truckee Chamber of Commerce is seeking proposals from qualified website design firms to completely redesign Truckee.com. The current website was created in 2017 with the intention being both a Destination website and a Chamber website. Since the Truckee Chamber no longer the destination management organization, we are excited for an update that showcases the important work that the Truckee Chamber is doing. The new website will prioritize Chamber programming, Chamber members, and business resources while maintaining a modern, user-friendly, and engaging online presence. This website will serve as the primary digital platform for our members, local businesses, and the broader Truckee community, providing key resources, events, and initiatives in a visually compelling and easy-to-navigate format.
We are looking for a creative, highly functional, and mobile-responsive design that enhances user experience, improves navigation, and integrates key Chamber services. We are excited to be able to offer a comprehensive website to our members and the greater community.
1. Focus on Chamber Programming & Members
● Elevate Chamber programs, initiatives, and events as a key focal point of the website. ● Ensure Chamber members receive prominent exposure through enhanced business directories, profiles, and integrated benefits.
● Develop a dynamic Chamber membership section with tools for joining, renewing, and engaging with the Chamber.
● Will need to integrate ChamberMaster for the member directory and events calendar
2. User Experience & Design
● Intuitive and modern navigation with clear calls to action.
● Mobile-first, fully responsive design optimized for various devices and browsers. ● Engaging, visually appealing layout that highlights Truckee’s unique business community.
3. Content Management & Functionality
● Easy-to-update CMS (WordPress or comparable).
● Integrated business directory from ChamberMaster with improved search and filter functions.
● Integrated events calendar for Chamber and community events.
● Interactive Chamber membership application and renewal process.
● Blog/news section for Chamber updates and business spotlights.
4. SEO & Performance Optimization
● SEO best practices implemented for improved search visibility.
● Work for local SEO optizmization to help chamber members get found more easily in search results
● Fast-loading pages optimized for high performance.
● ADA compliance to ensure accessibility for all users.
5. Integration & Compatibility
● Seamless integration with ChamberMaster (or other CRM tools used by the Chamber). ● Social media and email marketing platform integration.
● Embedded videos, testimonials, and member success stories.
● Ensure that integrations work with any future tools the Chamber might add. 6. Security & Maintenance
● Secure website with SSL certification and best security practices.
● Simple back-end access for Chamber staff to manage and update content. ● Ongoing maintenance package options for updates and support.
Interested firms should submit a proposal including the following:
1. Company Background & Experience
○ Overview of your company, including relevant experience with Chambers of Commerce or business-focused websites.
○ Examples of previous website redesign projects (portfolio links or case studies).
2. Approach & Timeline
○ Detailed project timeline from discovery to launch.
○ Process for design collaboration and revisions.
3. Technical Capabilities
○ CMS recommendation and justification. Explain in detail the reason fr your choice.
○ Overview of integrations (CRM, event calendars, membership portals, etc.).
4. Budget & Pricing Breakdown
○ Itemized cost estimate, including design, development, testing, and training. ○ Pricing for optional ongoing support/maintenance.
○ Break down payment by project phase
5. References
○ At least three references from past clients with similar projects.
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
● Experience & Portfolio (30%) – Demonstrated ability to create high-quality websites for Chambers or business organizations. Ability to provide work of similar size and scope.
● Understanding of Chamber Needs (25%) – How well the proposal aligns with our focus on Chamber programming and member engagement.
● Technical Capabilities & Functionality (20%) – Proposed CMS, integrations, and site performance enhancements.
● Project Timeline & Process (15%) – Clear and realistic development schedule.
● Cost & Value (10%) – Competitive pricing with a strong return on investment.
● Chamber Member – Priority will be given to Truckee Chamber of Commerce members.
