You're a Truckee Local... Now What?

October 7, 2022

You’ve made the big move to the mountains for a change of pace, life in a healthy environment, amazing outdoor recreation right out your back door, and the simplicity of living in a small mountain town. Welcome – we want to help you make Truckee your Base Camp for a Big Life!

Truckee is a community of passionate, like-minded people who are committed to protecting and preserving our small mountain town’s authenticity. One of the beauties of living in a small town like Truckee is that it’s easy to make a difference – knowing your community leaders, business owners, and neighbors. We value our quality of life, work hard and play hard – together. We are here to help each other be happy and thrive.

We’re friendly and welcoming, we wave to people in town, engage in conversation in the grocery store line and share when we’ve made a recent discovery, like a new business in town to support or trail to explore.

Truckee Love is a homegrown brand with a local shop downtown carrying great merchandise sporting this message, but it’s also a philosophy we all embrace. We care for one another, our community, and our environment.

It’s easy to make Truckee your Base Camp for a Big Life. All you have to do is embrace the Truckee Love philosophy – connect, engage and get involved. Whether you’re new or have been here awhile, there’s always something new and exciting to learn about your community. Read on for ways to connect, engage and stay informed.
